This is my first colored pencil sketch on a dark background. What a beautiful contrast the blue and white make against the stark black colored matte paper! Sailing and nautical artwork were themes in my 2021-2022 early work. This colored sketch was inspired by the masterful photography of Rod Harris, known for capturing vivid photography during sailing regattas.
